Understanding heart & chest symptoms
Doctors may evaluate symptoms such as palpitations, exertional discomfort, blood pressure problems or concerns about heart disease. A consultation may require clinical assessment and tests chosen by the treating team.
Questions to ask at an appointment
- Which symptoms should I describe and when do they occur?
- Should I bring prior ECG, echo or laboratory reports?
- How should I arrange follow-up if the doctor requests tests?
When to seek urgent medical attention: Severe or ongoing chest pain, especially with breathlessness, sweating, fainting or discomfort spreading to the arm or jaw, requires emergency medical care.
A doctor directory is not a substitute for emergency assessment of chest pain. Information is for healthcare navigation, not diagnosis or treatment recommendations.
